Orgasm of the tastebuds

My step dad's brother and his mate is staying with us at the moment. His mate is retired, from Canberra.... and is a wine expert!!

Ok, picture this...

It's a semi-cold night, but we're all lazing around a roaring fire, while drinking from a bottle of 'iced wine' from Canada. For those who are unaware, iced wine is wine where the grapes are juiced frozen. The result is a type of sweet, desert wine, but the taste is simply amazing (in this case, these grapes were actually grown near Niagara Falls). We've just finished dinner - chicken caesar salad - and we're drinking the wine with some juicy, ripe, but semi-frozen peaches (we put them in the freezer for a bit). Biting into the cold peaches is yummy enough... but with the sweet, Canadian wine... in front of a warm fire... on a lazy Thursday night... pure bliss!!!!

I thoroughly recommend it :)

Now excuse me while I go have a cigarette and a cold shower....

Cheers!

Hi Joe,

Nice to see you blogging. As the manager of a button factory I can appreciate why you may have been challenged to create a blog.

Shame that the cold is fast disappearing but the wine will still be great in summer. There is nothing like a fire to beat the television.

Have you ever visited Tim Ireland's (aka Manic) blog? Very different now from its original formation. Tim is an Australian expat who just happened to be at the first international Blog Conference acouple of years ago. Some very interesting stuff in the archives and if you have ever attempted any photoshopping, been to B3ta or Worth1000 or just get a lot of e-mail you will have seen Tim's stuff. Ciao

Hi Jo,

I have included a couple of links.

The first is to Bloggerheads – Tim Ireland’s (aka Manic) blog. = http://www.bloggerheads.com/ -some background stuff – the current front page goes back to the older days of the blog when Manic was less inspired to create political change. You will see a photo of Tim with his sign from when he created an e-mail address for Tony Blair – all in the archives. Manic has been a long time blogger and it is the archives that contain the treasure. His list of associates includes Wibbler and a few other bloggers and his sources have not changed much over the years – he sources lots of stuff thru Technorati, google news, etc. You can even join his “religion” or take a look at his classic Star Wars photoshopping project which is an interesting view of obsession with an image = http://www.bloggerheads.com/star_wars/
And
http://www.bloggerheads.com/photoshopping/
takes you to lots of other older photoshopping stuff

but be warned Manic is not to be annoyed = http://www.bloggerheads.com/archives/2002/02/

and if you appreciate a bit of photoshopping humour, strange challenges, unusual flash product then have a look at B3ta. The link takes you to the home page but usually there is more interesting stuff on the boards.

Ciao Ches
